Amphoria™ Water-Tight Insert Systems are designed for woodturners who want to combine the beauty of a handcrafted vessel with the practical benefits of a water-tight closure.

Each insert is precision manufactured from a premium engineered polymer, designed to provide smooth operation, excellent dimensional stability, and lasting performance. Every size includes a matching, replaceable O-ring, providing the sealing component needed for a water-tight fit when properly installed and closed. If the O-ring becomes worn or damaged over time, it can be easily replaced without replacing the insert system.

Ideal for custom vessels and specialty containers requiring a water-tight closure, these inserts bring new possibilities to functional woodturning, combining a practical sealing system with the distinctive character of your handcrafted work.

Material Composition: According to our material manufacturer, the polymer contains only five ingredients: polylactic acid derived from natural corn and sugarcane; acrylic copolymer, commonly used in children’s toys; colorant pigments, commonly used in baby tableware; ethylene bis-stearamide (EBS), commonly used in food cling film; and asbestos-free talc, commonly used in biodegradable straws. Our manufacturer states that each ingredient passes EU food-safety certification, referencing Commission Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011, which governs polymer materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.

Our material manufacturer also states that the polymer is certified under EN 71-3, the European toy-safety standard addressing migration of certain elements from toy materials.

Designed for general woodworking applications using properly dried wood, Water-Tight Insert Systems provide precise fitment and consistent, dependable operation. Water-Tight Performance: Amphoria™ Water-Tight Insert Systems retained water in our testing. Performance in a finished vessel depends on proper installation, including suitable base materials, appropriate adhesive selection, complete sealing of bonded joints, full adhesive curing, project finish, and correct O-ring seating. The insert closure forms one part of the seal; the vessel body and all bonded joints must also prevent water leakage.
